Dr.A.Suhruth Kumar, who unexpectedly left us, was a Legal Professional, Author, Orator, Poet, Professor of LAW, Science Propagandist and a Voluntary Activist, who gave indelible contributions. He had a dedicated life as a Law College Professor, KGOA State Secretary, Editor of KGOA News, Executive Director of Grameena Patana Kendram, Consulting Editor of Chinta Publishers, Leading Activist of Progressive Movement, Associate Editor of Employees Forum Magazine and Honorary Director of Legal Resource Center, KILA, and an active member of Sastra Sahitya Parishad and Balavedi. Suhruth was at the forefront of the agitations for decentralization in Kerala and was voluntary activist to strengthen the local bodies after the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments

Suhruth used to mention that there were no libraries or research facilities in Kerala at present to study the Decentralization in depth. It was Suhruth’s lifelong desire to establish such a world - class library and resource center. Attempts to expand the library at Grameena Patana Kendram, in this manner were initiated by Suhruth.
